Corbin is set to expand its scope as a conference and event destination with exciting new developments on the horizon, including an upgraded Corbin Center and a new Marriott property next door. This growth positions the Southern Kentucky city as a standout choice for high-profile gatherings, blending upgraded meeting facilities with warm, inviting hospitality.
H&W Management is investing in the Corbin meetings market with the upcoming debut of a new property adjacent to the Corbin Center, an exciting addition set to open its doors on November 1, 2025. This development will house two hotels under one roof—Fairfield Inn and TownePlace Suites—boasting 113 rooms, all with complimentary breakfast buffets. Adding a covered walkway connecting the hotels directly to the Corbin Center will offer unparalleled convenience for meeting attendees, making it easier to transition from accommodations to conference sessions.
Upon completion, the Corbin Center will elevate its conference offerings with an expansion of 15,500 square feet, bringing its total meeting space to 36,434 square feet. Scheduled for an opening in early 2026, the new design will feature a versatile main room that seats 520 guests for banquets and accommodates up to 800 for auditorium-style events. This flexible space can be divided into four sections and includes an inviting new lobby area.
Thanks to its modern technology and adaptable layout, the expanded Corbin Center promises to be a top choice for local and regional events. Bruce Carpenter, Executive Director of the Southern Kentucky Economic Development Agency, highlights the impact: “With the expansion of The Corbin Center and the addition of the new hotel, we’ll be positioned to host larger state and regional conferences. Between Knoxville and Lexington, we’ll be the largest facility of this type on I-75, complemented by an adjacent hotel.”
Adding to its appeal, the Corbin Center is conveniently close to the Corbin Arena, a 100,000-square-foot venue renowned for concerts, sports, community events, and trade shows. This proximity ensures that visitors can enjoy various activities, making the Corbin Center and its surrounding area an exciting destination for any event.
Beyond its growing infrastructure, Corbin is also renowned for its scenic landscapes. Nestled in the Appalachian foothills, it serves as a gateway to Cumberland Falls State Park, home to a stunning 125-foot-wide waterfall often dubbed the "Niagara of the South." This enchanting park invites adventure with many outdoor activities, from boating and fishing to exploring over 17 miles of picturesque hiking trails.
Corbin’s charming downtown is a vibrant hub for those attending meetings or conventions, offering a delightful array of local attractions. Food enthusiasts can explore artisanal gems like Folktale Coffee and Bakehouse, savor hand-crafted ice cream at Sweeties or visit the Harland Sanders Café and Museum, home of the original Kentucky Fried Chicken. For entertainment, groups can try axe throwing at Tomahawks or enjoy a nostalgic experience playing pinball at the Pinball Museum. With the new expansion, Corbin will be able to accommodate larger groups, giving visitors even more reasons to explore and enjoy the region. Nancy Conley, Executive Director of the Corbin Tourism Commission, noted, “We’re excited about the positive impact this will have on Corbin—more space and hotel rooms will allow us to host a wider range of conferences and groups while preserving our charming, intimate atmosphere for a stronger sense of connection for visitors.”
